Zesty Tuna Steaks

method

  1. Boil some water in a saucepan. Once boiling, add the tagliatelle. Cook for approximately 4 minutes or until tender. Drain and return to the pan. Add a few drops of olive oil and stir well. The olive oil prevents the tagliatelle from sticking together.
  2. Mix the dressing ingredients together.
  3. Put a little oil in a frying pan and fry the spring onions and the chilli for about 30 seconds.
  4. Add the tuna, olives and the thyme to the pan and cook for 1 minute only, stir occasionally.
  5. Tip the contents of the frying pan into the tagliatelle pan and carefully mix together.
  6. Serve on the plates or bowls and drizzle the dressing over.

Ingredients

  • 3 ‘bunches’ or 1⁄5 x 500g pack of tagliatelle per person
  • olive oil to fry
  • 6 spring onions, chopped
  • 1 fat red chilli, deseeded and cut into thin rings
  • 2 tuna steaks, cut into 1” square pieces
  • 15 black olives
  • 1 dessertspoon fresh thyme leaves

Dressing

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • juice and grated zest of a lime
  • salt and pepper
