  • 350g GF white bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons xanthan gum
  • 3 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds
  • 1 mug grated cheddar cheese
  • 300ml buttermilk
  • 100ml warm water
  • beaten egg to brush the loaf

  1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC fan oven/220ºC/gas 7. Grease and line a 30 x 20cm traybake tin.
  2. Mix together the dry ingredients and 2/3 of the mug of cheese.
  3. Mix together the water and buttermilk. Add to the dry ingredients and gently mix together until a dough is formed.
  4. Gently form into a loaf shape and place on the baking tray.
  5. Brush the top with egg and sprinkle over the rest of the grated cheese.
  6. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes. The loaf should sound hollow when tapped on the base. If not bake for another 5 minutes.

  • The Nosh Team - Hey Keren, well spotted, this is something we were aware of although not me personally, it should read 150ml...of all the recipes to get that wrong, it's one of most researched and tested recipes of the book, sorry if that was annoying for you when you came to bake it. It should work just fine now :-)

  • Keren Hele - Hi The Nosh gluten free cookbook has a recipe for a white bread loaf but in the ingredients it says 150ml warm water and in the instructions it says add 250ml warm water with the vinegar, juice, eggs, oil and honey. Can I clarify which it is please? Keren Hele
