Beefy Mince and Pasta Bake

Very simple to make and share with flatmates. It is OK reheated in the microwave, but best eaten straight away.

  1. Preheat oven to 200ºC fan oven/220ºC/Gas 7.
  2. Cook the pasta.
  3. Heat a little oil in a frying pan or wok. Fry the onion and garlic until soft.
  4. Add the mince and cook until no longer pink.
  5. Add the stock cube, tomato soup, herbs and salt and pepper.
  6. Drain the pasta well and add to the meat mixture. Transfer to a casserole dish.
  7. Top with grated cheese and cook for 20–25 minutes. The top should be browned.


  • 11⁄2 mugs pasta
  • 1 tablespoon oil to fry
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 400g pack of beef mince or Quorn
  • 1 beef/vegetable stock cube
  • 295g tin of Campbell’s condensed tomato soup (undiluted)
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • salt and pepper
  • 1⁄2 mug grated cheese
